jauni piedzīvojumi!

Sveiki visiem!

I hope everyone's week was great! This week was great and full of new adventures!

Tuesday we had another lesson with Jadviga and she is the best! I love her to death. I am no longer working with her but in another lesson she gave the other sisters and me a piece of wood, she does remonts and had this piece of hardwood flooring for each of us, made out of the strongest wood in Latvija and it's to always remind us that we are strong! She's the best!

Tuesday night we had an english class with this girl we found knocking. She loves the Book of Mormon! She is the coolest and our english class of just us turned into a dance  party haha!

Wednesday we had zone conference with President Martino. It was so great! We talked a lot about involving the members. It was so good and I learned so much and then I went home to my new apartment with my new companion! I love Agenskalns with my WHOLE heart. This other half of the river is the best. I also love Masa Teilore. She's the best! We've had lots of fun this week of trying to not get lost in an area we have never really been in and roasting marshmallows! This week I've felt so much happiness that I don't know how to take it all in. God has blessed me so much.

The rest of the week was kinda crazy of running around but so good!

Yesterday was also district conference. It was so fun to meet more members from Liepaja and Daugavpils. I love Latvija and the people here.

This week Masa Teilore and I were talking about how there are no coincides in life, how God puts things in our path for a reason. Then I call this lady and she was like "Hey, what a coincide i was just thinking about you  today and wondering where you were going to call me!" God definitely knows best!

This week I realized how good change is for us! Sometimes it may be difficult at first but it's always for our benefit. If we learn to make the best of every situation and choose to change for the better there's nothing that can stop us. I'm so grateful for this change. I love Riga Center North with my whole heart and I'm so grateful for the things I learned there and the people I got to work with. And I'm so grateful I get to just be across the river from them and see them all often. This week was a testimony that God loves each of us!

Love,
Masa Brunere

Rudens ir Klat

Sveiki! Sveiki!

I hope everyone's week was great!

This week was great and we saw many miracles!

First thing though. A new transfer this week! I will be moving to Augenskalns (Still in Riga) and I'll be serving with Māsa Teilore! I'm really excited for it! Neither of us know the area so it will be fun to figure it all out :)

Last Pday we got a letter from President saying that we now will speak our mission languages from 9 in the morning to 9 at night. And it has been the best ever! We've always spoke Latvian outside, but I have grown my language skills so much this week with always speaking. It's been amazing. We were promised if we do this we will better learn our language but also learn how to comfort people, laugh and tell jokes, and teach even better in Latvian. And I saw that this week. It was a huge testimony strengthener to me that God really does love us and love the people of Latvija!!

Wednesday we went knocking and it was just like the talk "Fourth Floor, Last Door" expect we start at the top of the building so first floor haha. But we had just knocked on the last door when the door before opened and walks out this super cute girl. We start talking to her and she is just so excited about the Book of Mormon and it was going so great. But then her mom came out and she started yelling at us in Russian haha. But we handed her an English night card and when the mom saw it she completely changed her attitude and now we have this super cute girl who is coming to English night, wants to learn about the Book of Mormon, and is going to bring her friends!! Miracle!!

Thursday another miracle day! We were supposed to have a few lessons but only one actually showed up so in a spare time we tried something new and just asked people outside the church if they wanted church tours and we found two new people from it!! One of them investigated a little bit ago and had a baptismal date but stopped investigating but he says he is ready know to learn and come unto Christ! I love missionary work!

Thursday I was just with Māsa Sedživa but we went and visited Māsa Helena in the hospital and that was a scary experience haha. European hospitals are not good and it was just a weird experience I will never forget haha. Māsa Helena may be in the hospital but she still talks and talks and talks like there is no end haha. I love her to death.

Today we got to church and there was a lady sitting there so we started talking to her and she talked to the missionaries on the streets and they told her to come so she did! While waiting she read the pamphlet about Joseph Smith AND SHE LOVED IT! She stayed all three hours, made friends and made comments, and we taught the Restoration and she already knows everything is true, she's going to read the Book of Mormon in two nights and so we extended a baptismal date to her and she's getting baptized October 6!! She just kept saying how she already knew what we had been talking about is true. She was saying how happy she was feeling and was just feeling the spirit so much. We are so excited for her!!

The weather this week was cooler. We needed sweaters a lot and it was cold haha. I think this next week will be warmer but winter is coming ahh!

I just love missionary work. This week I felt the love God has for these people here. They are so special! Just seeing everyone at church and how strong they are in their testimonies. I have a strong testimony people are prepared to hear and accept the gospel here. I saw it many times this week. Missionary work is the best!! I am so grateful for everything on my mission so far and for the experiences I've had, the lessons I've learned, and the person I've become! Missions are the best!

I love you all and thank you for everything!

Love,
Māsa Brūnere

Ikea and Exchanges!

Sveiki visiem!

I hope everyone had a great week!

Last P-day we went to IKEA! So fun haha. It's the exact same as the one in Utah and it was crazy. I also found my favorite ginger snap cookies! Those made it the best week ever.

Tuesday we had a lesson with our investigator Aira. It went good! She believes everything easily but just isn't acting which is sad. Wednesday we had lunch with a potential. I mentioned her a few weeks ago. She's this super awesome lady we talked to but we didn't get a lesson or her number the first time we saw her but on Monday night we saw her again and were able to go to lunch with her! It was super great and inspiring. I love her haha.

This week I also got to spend TWO FULL DAYS WITH MY FAVORITE! Meaning Sister Goodell! It was the absolute best. Sister Cain went down to Liepāja to do two exchanges so I just stayed here in Riga with Sister Goodell and they were such fun days. I love her death and I'm so grateful for her.

Yesterday we went to the Platt's house for dinner, they are an American family and it was so good! They are the best! I also got to translate for primary again this week and every time I get to do it it makes my entire day. I love those kids so much!

"But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold,he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words." 1 Nephi 9:6
Trust in Him and in what He asks us to do! He knows all and has a reason for it!

Also, here is a qreat quote my awesome Aunt Taryn shared with me and I want to share it with you all too because one it's great and two rain in Latvija is my favorite thing.
" Pray for rain. And when you leave the house take an umbrella with you!"

Thank you for everything and I hope you have a great week!

Love,
Māsa Brūnere

7 months!

Sveiki! Sveiki! Sveiki!

I hope you had a great week! This week was good for us here in Latvija haha. Last pday we went to the zoo which was really fun haha. We also visited Jekabs and that was just a party. He was being so funny. Māsa Lūisa was literally crying haha, always a great time at Jekabs.

We had a lesson with the Russian elders this week as well with Aira. She is super cute and wants to be baptized! She is super believing and I'm excited to keep working with her!

We also had THE GREATEST sports night ever this week. There's a potential that comes and she suggested we play hot potato and we were down for it but when she started explaining the game it was not hot potato haha. Basically we all stood in a circle and if you messed up you had to kneel in the middle and the point was to try and hit them with the ball and if they caught it they could come out. Sounds lame but it was the funnest night. Literally no one could stop laughing haha.

Yesterday we went over to the Twitty's, an American family, for dinner and we had such great Mexican food. Mexican is my favorite and I miss it but this was soo good. Always they are just some of my favorite people ever.

I started the Book of Mormon again this week and I'm studying about prayer. And it's been sooo amazing! The biggest thing that has stood out to me is how often people in the Book of Mormon receive answers while still praying. This week I've really been focusing on giving God more time to answer my questions while still on my knees and I've gained an even stronger testimony that God is there and He does listen to our prayers and answer them, we just need to act and listen! I invite all of you to try it, have an extra minute of silence during your prayers, you will receive more!

Thank you for everything! I love you all and have a great week!

Love,
Māsa Brūnere
