I've been thinking a lot about what to say in this email and it definitely is such a bittersweet email. I titled this email after the song, "Because I have been given much I too must give" because when I think of this song I think of this sweet and miraculous experience I have had as a missionary. God has given me so much and I know that in return for His great blessings I must give Him all that I have. Doing that as a missionary has been the biggest blessing ever. This last week has been such a sweet and happy week. We have been to many of the member's homes to say goodbyes and we have seen miracles. I love the people of Latvija so so much. Leaving them will be one of the hardest things. This has become my home and they have become my people. But my heart is full of gratitude for the friendships I have made. This week God has let me see those blessings as we met with the people who have helped me grow and that I have served among for so long. I was also able to meet with one of my investigators from the beginning of my mission that no one has been able to get in contact with and she still knows the Book of Mormon is true and wants to start meeting with missionaries again!! I am so excited for her! And I texted Anita that I was leaving and would love to see her again. She hasn't replied to us in weeks and she replied and we are meeting with her TODAY!!!
I love this work and I love being a missionary for Jesus Christ. I would 100% serve another mission because of how much you see the Lord's hand each day. I testify that He loves us!! He cares for us and knows each one of us personally. Yesterday, I received the sad news that my dear stake president had passed away. It was hard and sad to hear and I immediately kneeled and prayed and I know that God has a plan and He will comfort those who need it because that day in church one of the members got up and bore a simple, sweet testimony of the Plan of Salvation. The spirit hit me so hard. I'm so grateful for our loving Heavenly Father and for the knowledge we have that He does hear and answer our prayers.
I just want to finish my bearing my testimony that I know God lives and because He lives and loves us He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth so we would have a way back to Him. Because of His Atonement, we will never be alone. He understands us perfectly and because of that He will guide us, comfort us, and change us. I'm grateful that I have been able to represent Him and wear His name on my chest. I love Him. I know He is our Savior and I know this is His work. He leads and guides it just as He leads His restored church on earth.
I love you all so much. Thank you thank you thank you for the love, support, and prayers for the past 18 months. I could not have done it without all of you!! This is the true church!!
SEE YOU SOON!!!
Love,
Māsa Brūnere
